I am very excited to announce that our parish has a transitional deacon for about four months! A transitional deacon is a seminarian who is nearing the completion of his seminary formation and is first ordained to the diaconate typically a year or so prior to being ordained a priest.
Our Dallas seminarian Elijiah Thomson, who currently studies at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans, is eager to learn all he can about parish life. You may have heard him introduce himself at last weekend’s Masses. During his time here, Deacon Elijiah will assist with Sunday and weekday Masses by serving at the altar and preaching, accompany Fr. Tymo and me in our various forms of pastoral ministry, and immerse himself in the many things we have going on at our parish this summer.
Thank you for helping Deacon Elijiah feel welcome in our community!
